What inspired this recipe?
Combine 1 Tbsp simple syrup, 5-6 mint leaves in bottom of glass and muddle; add ice and top with rum and pomegranate; shake contents and top with soda water; garnish with a mint sprig.
When I lived in East Boston, one of my favorite things about the area was the Latin influence. My "Moj-eastie" is an homage to what most of the immigrants in Eastie have had to do: adapt to a new way of life by keeping some of the old traditions. I think the Pomegranate Schnapps is a twist that will only improve the traditional Cuban drink.
